We took the kids to Kirby Park for National Night Out. The police were there with their police dogs, fire department was there with a fire house (where you learn what to do if your house is on fire) and there were games to play! Kids had a blast! Julia was terrified of the fire puppy. Jack on the other hand loved it! which is so strange because you think it would be the other way around! Jack is usually afraid of EVERYTHING! and Julia is my brave soul! But, not today! We finally gave Juls a pair of Sarah's sunglasses and told her if she wore those the puppy could not see her! She finally calmed down!
Jack and the Fire Pup!Patrick brought Jack inside the fire house to show him what to do if your house was on fire. You sit inside this pretend living room and smoke starts to fill the room, then a smoke detector goes off. Patrick told Jack to crawl low to the ground and get to the door. Jack did exactly what he told him! Jack has been talking about it since! He tells me that you have to get low to the ground and crawl to the door and then run outside to the mailbox and wait for help! He is too cute! Julia went in the fire house w/ us but as soon as the smoke alarm went off she freaked out so Sarah ran her out the back door! she was clearly not in a good mood that night! :)
